I love to see the temple!!! I have been inside and how wonderful the feeling is sitting in there and comfortable in the Lord’s House. We as members of the church who are worthy and prepared are interviewed by two of the Lord’s representatives and receive a recommend to enter into the temple. A lot of people think that they are not welcome but everyone is welcome in-fact we want everyone to make it and worship with us in the house of the Lord. There are conditions you need to meet before you do so.
1. Preparing to make Covenants (promises with the Lord)
2. 2 Interviews take place with a member of the Bishopric and a member of the Stake Presidency. Here are some questions you would hear in the interview…
they will ask you about your testimony of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and The Holy Ghost.
whether you sustain the President of the church
do you live the law of chastity, pay an honest tithe, honest with others, and keep the word of wisdom.
do you attend your church meetings, keeping the covenants you have already made, and strive to live in harmony with the commandments of the gospel.
to learn about what these all mean and if you are living them or not go to lds.org and type the topics in the search engine.
the interviews are exactly the same and the reason for this is because you need 3 witnesses to sign your recommend one of them is you to make sure you are found worthy to enter into the house of the Lord.
“And no unclean thing shall be permitted to come into thy house to pollute it.” Doctrine & Covenants 109:20
3. Worthiness (clean)
not all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are worthy to enter into the house of the Lord. I have heard the story from friends about a hundred times…
its not fair I can’t see my son or daughter get married in the temple
The church hates me and singles me out and won’t sign my recommend
so and so isn’t worthy how come she gets to enter into the temple
The temple is God’s House He has set the requirements. We may all enter into the house of the Lord as long as we live the way the Lord has taught. The only reason that people get offended when they can’t enter into the temple is because of themselves. They are simply just not qualified because they have chosen how they want to live.
Its simple we are not excluding people at all. Although people will say that. The fact is if you want enter and make covenants with the Lord you need to live the laws God has set. Yes there are people who enter who are not worthy and people ask why?
Agency its a glorious thing that all people have. If you want to make covenants with the Lord unworthily thats not on anyones head but the person who does so.
The temple is such a wonderful place we invite all to enter and come unto the Lord Jesus Christ because thats what it is all about. I go to the Temple to serve and help my dead ancestors who didn’t get the opportunity here during there earth life. And the great thing is that they still have their agency whether to accept or reject the ordinances that we perform in proxy for them. I go to receive revelation for my life and strength from God. I have been married in the Temple so I can be with my husband and children for time and all eternity as opposed to a civil marriage stating until death do us part. I didn’t invest in a marriage to simply have it end when I die heck no I want it to mean more! I know the temples here on earth is a place like what the heavens will be like because I felt the Holy Ghost confirm this truth to me. What a blessing to have temples all over the world like they did in acient times when Christ walked the earth!
“That in all your recordings it may be recorded in heaven; whatsoever you bind on earth, may be bound in heaven; whatsoever you loose on earth, may be loosed in heaven;” D&C 127:7
“And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Isaiah 2:2-3
I invite you personally to live in harmony with the Lords teachings and learn how to become a better person and help and serve others who have passed on.
